Turbidity Barriers

Turbidity barriers are designed to keep silt, sediments and debris from migrating off the job site into the water.  They are required by State and Federal regulations to keep a job site clean and prevent obstacles from getting into fresh, clean water.

The floating barriers consist of a top floatation boom.  A skirt is attached to the boom and extends down into the water.  A heavy chain is sealed into the hem along the bottom, which holds the barrier down and in place.

When clients come to us and want large areas of unwanted vegetation cleared from the edge of a body of water, turbidity barriers are installed to keep debris from leaching into the main waterway.

When the job is completed the debris is caught in the barrier and pulled to the shore and emptied. The barrier is removed revealing a clean job site.
